This is not to embarrass Beyonce.  Far from it.  There is a teachable moment here and praise for her.

Yesterday I saw a story on CNN about Beyonce falling at a concert.  It looked painful.  Poor thing fell face first down some stairs.  Then - and this is where the praise comes in - she did what I want you who is reading this post to do.  She got up and kept going.

Was she hurting?  I bet so.  But she kept going.

Question to the reader:  When you are reaching for a new level in your business or personal development and you “fall,” - you mis-step and land on your face - what do you do?

Do you decide that this whole striving for a goal thing is just too much?  Do you figure that since you fell it is a sign from God that you are not meant to go for your dream?  I hope not.

Fail forward.  If you are in business, you fail sometimes.  I fail sometimes too, so you have company…but it isn’t just us “little folk” who fall on our faces sometimes.  Also people like Mike Filsame, Rick Radditz, and Tellman Knudson .

We all have our moments of glory and our moments that we would prefer people not spread around.  Beyonce pleaded with people not to post her fall on YouTube, so that’s exactly what 2 people did.

She had those videos removed - or somehow they got removed.  Too bad, because leaving them up could have proved a powerful success principle.

The fall wasn’t a bad thing, Beyonce.  But perhaps pulling the videos is worse than the fall.  I know this was embarrassing, but by pulling those videos, you miss the opportunity to show your fans and everyone else “how it’s done” when you fall.  You got back up and kept going.  That is what every successful person does.

You handled an embarrassing situation with grace.  too bad those videos aren’t still up to remind everyone that even the mighty take a bad step now and again.

Now here’s something else to learn from Beyonce.  She believes in forced continuity.  She has tapped into a key secret of the wealthy.  Sure, you can buy tickets and music to her concerts on the website, but you can also check out eBay auctions and join her fan club.  $36.95 every year.

So there are several ways Beyonce makes money from fans. And I am sure there are a bunch more that I don’t know about. 1.  Selling CDs and DVDs (her music is what she’s known for, obviously) 2.  eBay auctions (2 tickets in the 4th row of an upcoming concert are up now) 3. Show tickets 4.  Beyonce merchandise sold at shows (she has T-shirts etc.) 5. Royalties for every time her music is played. 6. Yearly membership, 7. I would bet she has her fingers in a production company, because she’s smart enough to know that real wealth comes from being on the supply side (providing content for others to use).

What about you, best beloved reader?  What are you going to supply on a repeat basis (monthly/yearly)?
