The Great Law of Attraction Debate Continues
March 28, 2007 |
I love a good conversation in which people speak to various issues around a topic.
In case you have not been aware, Dave Lakhani, Kevin Hogan, Blair Warren and Bob Beverly had a lively discussion about the law of attraction and The Secret Movie. Listen to it by clicking these words.
Last night on the Magic Teleseminar, Dave Lakhai joined us along with Antonio Thornto.
Antonio focused on the power of thought and Dave focused on the fact that the “Law” of attraction is not scientifically measurable and predictable like the law of gravity. Pers
Personally, I find it disturbing that some people believe that anyone who suffers an illness or crime attracted it to themselves.
Plenty of people say this sort of thing to me. Oh - I should say that I’m mostly blind, which means I have people wanting to lay hands on me for my healing and telling me I brought it on myself intentionally.
I had one person tell me that I was so vain about my beauty in a past life that in this life I am mostly blind and unattractive. What a load of crap!
I also find it interesting that for huge sums of money people can buy gratitude rocks emblazoned with The Secret or a lamp like the one in the movie. OK, I realize the movie was made by marketers, and I take no issue with that. I’m also a markete among other things…but it pains me to see that kind of merchandising because it leads people away from real, useful, tangible action and gives them an idol in which to put their faith.
Yes, thoughts do change your reality in that if you focus on reaching your goals and on what you want your life to look and be like, you are much more likely to make it happen than if you sit on your rear and do nothing.
Yes, I mention The Secret in my Storyation sales letter, and what I teach people has to do with thought, action, and measurable results as well as the power of stories.
So ask yourself these questions. In fact, get out some paper or open a document and write about your reflection:
“What are the prevailing (top of awareness) thoughts that I have?”
“What ACTION am I taking that will bring what I want into being?”
“How can I place myself into situations that will bring what I want into my life?
and you’ll be well on your way.
