Would It Be Useful for You to turn Every Business Expense into a Profit Center?

I am taking a class that is teaching me to turn everything I do for work into a profit center rather than a busines expense.  And before you say, “well good for you, why should I care?” let me first say that the reason I’m mentioning this is that YOU can still be there too.

The Guerilla Information Marketing Trainer Certification program started last week, but everything is recorded adn available in all formats for all learning types, video (webinar and the slides) audio, and printed transcripts.

My mentors for this training are Paulie Sabol, autho of The Quiet Networker,  and Dr. Ben Mack, author of Think Two Products Ahead,  plus some of their super friends, including Artemis Limpert and Donna Fox, author of Credit repair to Credit Millionaire  so far.

TOnight is a question and answer session totally focused on helping every student (future trainer) become profitable.  So far the class has been going on for just about 3 hours.

This is a bonus session.

The first class went 4 hours and we didn’t get through all the intended material, so that will be moved to another night.

3 things I learned from the introductory report which is not now available::

1. It is possible for me to turn all of what had been business expenses into profit centers

2. Any type of business can make #1 happen, whether it is online, offline or both

3. Starting with an event that can be recorded makes for perpetual sales

These are 3 examples of information products taht are above and beyond the typical books, teaching DVDs, and so forth:

1. The instruction booklet that came with the special containers that push out the air so food stays fresher longer.  The booklet explains how to use the product AND what else is available in the line, thus making it a guerilla information marketing product

2. My dad gave me the new DVD of 101 dalmatians.  Inside are 3 flyers. 1 is about the Platinum Edition of the movie; it talks about all the navigation options available to get the most from the product and it reminds you of the value of the special features and bonuses.  1 is a sweepstakes information flyer where you can win a trip to London.  1 is about other Disney products.  All are full color.  Then before you watch the movie there are not only ads for other Disney movies and products, but a public service quickie from QuitSmoking.gov.

3. This isn’t mine but it is a great example.  My friend bought her granddaughter a Build-A-Bear Workshop toy.  The whole store is designed to increase your purchase and create an experience for you.  A clerk helps you fill your toy with the perfect amount of stuffing that you want in it.  There are clothes and even accessories for the toys.

Examples of clothes: ballerina outfit, baseball outfit, fairy outfit, also clothes to make your toy look like Snow White or other Disney characters.  Examples of accessories include:  Sunglasses, all sorts of hats, fairy wand, purse, cell phone, ipod, gym shoe, silver slippers, sandals, ruby slippers like Wizard of Oz, dance shoes, cowboy boots.

They even sell underwear!  Also they give you a discount for enrolling the gift recipient into the club (don’t remember what it’s called) where they can register and  name their toy, give it a birthday, and buy more stuff for it.  Absolutely brilliant marketing!

Each purchase has a tag with the website and club info on it, and the clerk slips in a flyer which entices you to buy more.

So in what ways might you make things that you do into profit centers.

I’ll give you a couple examples of things I have coming up.  I am not being too specific on purpose.  I have a book coming out where you will be able to make money because it will have affiliate links in it where YOU can earn money.  Isn’t that cool?

I am considering “renting out” a monthly fee based service by offering to sell the opportunity of limited access to others (fee per use once a month).

So if you would like to learn how to get paid for yoru marketing, please join me in this class.  And also you will become - when you complete the homework and pass the test at the end - a Certified Guerilla Information Marketing Trainer, which means you can do presentations as well as use all the tools to get profitable.

When you become more profitable, you are able to support yourself, your family, and your most cherished charities more, right?  So this is one way to get profitable.

There is even a payment plan.  Put a Certified Guerilla Information Marketing Trainer into the search box and look for payments.  The post was last week.  I’m in the middle of a class, so I’ll let you look it up and show what an action taker you are.

If you want to get profitable, please join me and become a a Certified Guerilla Information Marketing Trainer

Are You making Any of the 7 Most Costly Mistakes Information Marketers make?

I know I’ve been guilty of some of these…

I was on a call tonight with Dr. Ben Mack and Paulie Saibol, The Quiet Networker - and the call was anything but quiet.  WOW what an exciting call.

I’m going to tell you where to listen to the replay and how to make the same decision I’ve made  to

Become a Certified Guerilla Information Marketing Trainer!

But first, these are some of the 7 mistakes.

Mistake #1 - Not realizing that Info Marketing is a business.  I bet there’s something that you do easily or that you know, and other people would GLADLY pay you for it.  I don’t know if you saw my recent post about valuing yourself, but this is related.  Actually, failing to value yourself and what you know is another of the biggest mistakes.

Info marketing - or Recommendation marketing - is truly a business.  If someone can make it faster, easier, better, less painful, more fun, less expensive, more effective, or help you make money, this is a business for sure.

Say you have a hobby and you love tropical fish.  You can turn that hobby into a business by figuring out what people who also love fish don’t know as much as you do about and delivering services and/or products around it.  You only need be a step or two ahead of the person who buys the product from you.

The second biggest mistake is not following a proven recipe or system.  Dr. Ben Mack used the example of baking a cake.  If you guess at the ingredients you may come up with something, but it would take a lot of trial and error before you got a good cake.  You might not realize that a little baking powder is important, and you might fiddle with different amounts in an effort to figure out how much was just enough.

Someone who has done it before and has the recipe can show you, and if you follow the recipe, you get a good cake - or a great tropical fish tank - or whatever your passion and expertise matched with a want or need in the market can create.

The third biggest mistake is what I have been HUGELY guilty of in the past: Under-valuing what you know because you know it.  That means you’re REALLY good at making a cake or quilting or writing an article or figuring out some things that make Skype work more efficiently - but it’s so easy for you that you don’t think of how much stress or time it would save the person who doesn’t know it to have that expert guidance.  So you give it away for free.

Paulie Sabol talked about a client who had given away her expertise for 30 years, and on one 90 minute call made a lot of money.  Listen to the call and get all the details!
