I never imagined that my willingness to throw darts would capture so many people’s attention, but when I participated in one of the immunity challenges for Tp Affiliate Challenge, I never imagined that immunity from elimination would ultimately be left up to who could throw the dart better.

No, I did not win the challenge, however, I beat out 2 of the 5 immunity finalists that day, including Chad Van Norman, a tournament dart player.  Yeah yeah Chad - I know - the dart was bent blablabla.  What do you want for bar darts.  Mine was bent too.  <big grin>

I’m told I was a quarter inch away from winning immunity.  Not bad for a blind girl!

I think Thor Schrock was worried that he would get hate mail for making a blind woman throw darts.  But honestly, I love darts.  No, I’m not particularly good at it.  One good shot was about all I had in me that day.  However I love the frustration release darts can bring.  Maybe I would have gotten that extra quarter inch if I had imagined John Chow on the dart board that time.  He was using the emotional roller coaster of the reality show game to get his original team to throw themselves under the bus and acquiesce to his plan.  Not this woman!  I wasn’t going down without a fight and certainly wouldn’t vote myself off.  I did my very best to imagine hitting dead center.

So anyway, I couldn’t believe how excited everyone else got that I was throwing darts.  Sure, I couldn’t see the board very well and I have no clue how to make what I do translate into any particular result on the board, but I’m competitive with myself and I do NOT give up or give in.

When I get some pictures or video of that I’ll post it.  But what fun!  I think that the way I threw my whole  self into the competition inspired some people, and for that I am grateful.

Never give up and never give in, no matter how the odds seem to be stacked against you.
