[Profitable Storytelling] Profitable Storytelling Made Simple: The Story Lady on Today’s Guest on BLogTalkRadio
March 21, 2008 |
OK so the last story in this post gave the example of looking to your everyday “normal” life for the storeis athat are all around you and using them to enhance your business. I shared the story of my rooster Dartanian creating a greater impact by properly positioning himself for maximum volume.
I use this technique
- in videos
- on my radio shows
- in person
- in articles
- in blog posts
- as examples that I use with clients
- and more…
.Stories become profitable when you begin to think about them as a profit center.
A couple of years I didn’t know diddly-squat about marketing, and I was caught in my own head-story about why I didn’t deserve success, though I didn’t realize it at the time.
As I learned about marketing and positioning, I experienced a marketing mind makeover. I learned to value myself as much as I value others, and to realize that I deserve to be well paid for the value I bring to the marketplace.
As Artemis Limpert would say, I changed my emotional address - and my attitudinal address too. By the way she is one of my new favorite people. I was so impressed with her that I made her a video testimonial and sent it to her.
Anyway - Your own story of your experience magnetizes people to you and compels trust. Storytelling is one of the most persuasive things you can do.
If I just say that storytelling is a great connector but never tell you a story, you won’t trust me.
As a writer I always heard, “show don’t tell” and this is the exact same principle. Let me show you who I am with relevant parts of my story.
Now let me give you the audio to the today’s Guest show on BlogTalkRadio that I did on profitable storytelling made simple. Please listen, give the show a comment and a 5-star rating, and make us your friend.
