[Increase Your IMPACT Factor] Latest News from Ken McArthur, author of Impact

Impact coverThis is the latest from the Books Mean Credibility live coaching program from Ken McArthur as he prepares to launch his book Impact.

He just got the proofs to read yesterday, and the book is due tomorrow.  It’s that game of hurry up and wait.  You know the game, right?

Hurry up and get us the book by December 15.  Then we’ll make you wait and if you don’t hear from us for a couple of months, that’s good news.

Then you’ll hear from us and have almost no time to get your book finished fromthe proofs - so hurry up — then wait as we get things set up and then hurry up because it’s launch time.

I feel a real sense of pride because I did his entrepreneurial editing and helped him shape parts of the book as he was writing it.  I’m one of the few people who has read the book at least 3 times through, plus read revisions of certain parts.  Ken is an excellent writer, but any book needs shaping.

So he got the errata list, which means the list of errors, and the editor was pleased taht we all but did her job for her.  Her only complaints were things like the fact that Career Press doesn’t like the word “like” meaning “similar.”  They prefer “similar.”  We didn’t know that until today, but those were small changes.

She found no typos and no parts of the book that were in any way unclear.  Hooray!

She asked for verification on 2 quotes.

There may ahve been something else minor, but that was about it.  Wow, how thrilling to be part of Ken creating his impactful book.

Oh - and this is another part of the “hurry up and wait.”  After hearing nothing from December 14 until March 14th or so, the publisher wanted an additional 3,000 words in the form of a resource section.———by the end of the week!

So now Ken is getting help going through the proofs so that the book can be printed and distributed in A[ril for a May 13 launch.

Tuesday is new book day, just like it’s new music day on iTunes and new DVD release day as well.  See, you learned something new today.
