Josh Waitzkin author of the book The Art of Learning, has been making the rounds this week.  Tonight Paulie Sabol did a masterful interview with him as part of Dr. Ben Mack’s 9 Nights of Magic Teleseminar Series.  Friday, Oct. 26 (tomorrow as I write this), persuasion expert Dave Lakhani will interview him.

Josh is someone you may have heard about somewhere along the way, though you probably don’t know that you know him.  He is a Chess Grandmaster, multiple world champion chess player and the subject of the movie Searching For Bobby Fischer.  He is also a master of Tai Chi and push hands.

I would never have guessed - because I know a tiny bit about Tai Chi but NOTHING about chess - that a principle that Josh learned in chess is also a principle of the martial art.  This is what I had to immediately blog.  How cool!

In Tai Chi and other martial arts, there is a principle that says to meet aggression with emptiness, thereby turning the power of the attacker back.  This is actually something he failed to understand as a child in a major tournament, but later realized.

That brings me to another excellent principle I got from him on the call, which is the true value of failure.  It is so like us as humans to want to share our successes.  Heck, who doesn’t?  But Josh Waitzkin urges us to find not only the learning lessons but the power in failure.

Josh Waitzkin’s new book is The Art of Learning.  This book is #1 in Health, Mind and Body (no small accomplishment!)  This is what Dave Lakhani said about the book:  “The Art of Learning is the single best book I’ve read on developing championship learning strategies both individually and for your team. This book is amazing and you’ll find it here for your review:”

you can register for Dave Lakhani’s free interview here.

Pick up The Art of Learning here.

The 9 Days of Magic series  teaches you the magic of getting profitable.  Register once for each of the calls and see the post of earlier today or the registration site for the other presenters.

Enjoy the interview tomorrow!  I learned a lot from Josh Waitzkin tonight!
