[Top Affiliate Challenge] I Can’t Believe I Auditioned for a Reality Show - Top Affiliate Challenge

Maybe it was temporary insanity; I don’t know. But when I was at JV Alert Live, Thor Schrock from the Next Internet Millionaire convinced me to audition for his show - Top Affiliate Challenge.

I normally do not watch reality shows, though I was totally hooked on Next Internet Millionaire. I auditioned for TAC just for fun, however…

I have to admit —- shhhh, don’t tell anyone, OK? — that I’m kind of excited about it now.

Why am I excited? Hmmm, well, I don’t know. I hate popularity contests. I was always ridiculed and picked last for anything in grade school and high school…The only part I liked about school was the studying, because books were never cruel. So why would I purposely get myself into a popularity contest?

Like I said, maybe it’s temporary insanity. But the competitive side of me and the part of me that has come to LOVE working online and making a decent living against tremendous odds actually thinks it would be so COOL to actually make it to the show.

You’re wondering why I say there are odds stacked against me. Well, I’m mostly blind, so everything I do is adapted. I use a speech program called Zoom Text to access the computer, and I have the monitor very close to my face to help out where the speech program makes things difficult.

I know it would be challenging to make it on the show, but how cool it would be to make it there and face the challenge of competing on the show. I’m planning to publicize my participation a lot to blindness and disability organizations.

Kids are cruel, but now that I’m an adult, I don’t have the same problem. People tell me I inspire them because of all I do, but I do not feel that I’m inspiring. I’m just living my life and rising to any challenge that suits me to take.

I don’t watch reality TV shows, so I don’t know if there has ever been someone who is legally blind on any of them, but I know that I am the first blind person auditioning for an internet reality show.
