How Every Entrepreneur Should Begin The Day - with Greatness Nation
July 24th, 2007 · Filed Under: get profitable · online press room
Want to get more profitable? Start your day out right.
As someone who is a night owl by preference, I resisted the urging of my mentor to become an early riser, but I decided that I have followed everything else he said to do and enjoyed great results, so I had better listen. I also read in Frank Bettger’s book How I Raised Myself From Failure To Success In Selling, and he talks about the 6 o-clock club, meaning get up early.
Sigh.
But here’s the thing. Much as I STILL am not used to getting up early after over a month, I honestly can say that I get more done if I’m up early and getting a lot of “my own stuff” done before I start seeing clients.
BUT without sufficient motivation, getting out of bed early was much less interesting than rolling over and catching a few more Zs.
Then Frank Gasiorowski, Mr. 90 Day Goals, told me about the Greatness Nation calls.
Greatness Nation is a community that Mike Litman, author of Conversations with Millionaires, founded for entrepreneurs who wanted to get the day off to a great start. Frank Gasiorowski, author of Ten Secret Keys to Make the Next 90 Days Your Best Ever, and Dr. Mike Davison, author of An Invitation to Personal Peace, are part of the Greatness Nation Team along with Mike Litman, and the three of them - sometimes with mystery guests - lead the FREE calls every weekday at 7 and 10 AM EAstern.
So will exercise get me up early? Not unless there’s a cattle prod involved.
Would someone fixing me breakfast in bed do it? I don’t know…I don’t have anyone offering to provide this service to me.
Will the thought of being more successful do it? No, because I’m usually too short on sleep to get that “together” on my own…
But will the prospect of being surrounded by success-minded entrepreneurs get me out of bed with brain engaged and a pad and pen ready? Absolutely.
Each day there is a mind-expanding topic that is sufficient to make me want to get out of bed to make the early call (6 AM my time). Then, with my brain in gear, I’m ready to take on the day. Topics vary each day - money, service, sales, mindset, etc.
Join Greatness Nation and be sure to introduce yourself! I’ve created a page on my website with all the call details. Tap into the power of Greatness Nation here.

This was really good! I, too, am a former self-professed night person and am discovering that when I get up earlier, I get so much more done than I could ever have imagined.
Thank you for always sharing great things with us!

OK — I need to confess that I tried this for over four months and I found that I lost my best thinking time this way. I think after that much time I gave the early bird thing a fair shake. My mind works much better later at night, and getting up at 5:30 never got comfortable.
So sorry, Glenn, but I gave up the lark habit.
