I started out online a couple of years ago knowing almost nothing about internet marketing and absolutely nothing about affiliate marketing or joint ventures. Perhaps you’re wondering how I manage to do business online as someone who is mostly blind, and perhaps you’re wondering how YOU would do it if you were in my place.

I’m here to tell you that if a blind person can do it, so can YOU! Now I teach others what was recently a mystery to me and use the tools of responsive media such as blogging, videos, social marketing and networking.

It is because of adaptive technology that I am able to use the computer for business. I have a program that works reasonably well. I do need to upgrade it.

Here’s something you may not realize about adaptive technology. You can go to a store and get a fully featured productive package like MS Office Suite for a couple hundred dollars. The program I currently use is called ZoomText, and it will both magnify the screen and talk to me. I do find that I have to use my vision more than I would like to in order to make the system work for me quickly and efficiently. I also find it a pain to read PDF files, which are what you get with just about any print download. The software cost me $600 when I bought it four years ago. No, I don’t have the latest version. Updating the program costs as much as buying the whole MS Office Suite. Yes, I said UPDATING the $600 product I already have is the same price as Office.

The program I want to get is about $1,000.00. It doesn’t magnify but I used to use it when I worked in disability services and always loved it. Now there is even an iTunes channel for JAWS, which I just discovered when I went to grab the link. Is is called JAWS or Job Access With Speech.

I sopped up everything my mentor Glenn Dietzel taught me as a client and now am teaching what I learn. I hope it gives you and any clients hope to realize that if someone like me who has some extra challenges to deal with right out of the gate can learn to run an integrated online-offline business, so can you.

So now, what I’ve learned about copywriting, marketing, social networking, making videos, generating traffic and so forth will serve me as I compete to be on Top Affiliate Challenge. You can see my audition and vote me a 10 at RondaIsA10.com

I would like to thank another of my mentors, branding expert Dr. Ben Mack, from whom I learned many things, including the handy trick of getting a domain to make it easy to point people to something like my audition video instead of the long and messy link from TAC.

I’ve had such fun voting for the other contestants. I look at each one and decide whether that person would make a good worthy adversary. I want the strongest competition and the most FUN too!
