“High Profit” and “writers” in the same breath! Wow!
May 9, 2007 |
The poor writer is an annoyingly common image. I even remember reading an article in a writer’s magazine telling us to get used to being broke. UGH!
Now, I’m not saying people should be unrealistic and expect their first story or book to be a million dollar seller, but I refuse to accept the broke writer image.
And since I have actively refused to believe in that paradigm, I am more successful as an author.
Yes, attitude and mindset are almost everything. Certainly skill plays a role as well, but there are plenty of highly skilled, broke authors.
So imagine my glee when I heard about High Profit Writers and their new blog. It will be interesting to discover what comes up on their new blog.
Think of what you want to know that would increase your profitability as a writer and let them know.

Mon bon bon Ronda,
I am told I am to partake of a game. I have been tagged. I have been instructed to pass the tag to my friends. I do not have many. I have tagged you. However, upon arriving here, I find it may not be appropriate. I apologize. I am loving this blogging thing, but it’s confusing at times.
By the way, the anti-spam button confuses me…took two takes. ;o)
Bonjour,
Henri de Montmorency
Hi Ronda,
I agree that we can visualize, and thus achieve, success. As soon as I get past the bankruptcy I’m filing due to the injuctions the banks are filing over the foreclosure proceedings, I’ll visualize better things for the future of my marketing efforts for my first fantasy novel, Choices Meant for Gods, which is available now…just…you know…waiting for me to get done with the horror of real life.
I type all that in a tongue-in-cheek manner, even though it’s horrible stuff that’s causing me amazing stress, because I really do agree with you. We can achieve success and we can get our names and our images and our books “out there” for the public to fall in love with. It just takes elbow grease and a powerful love of our work.
I love my work powerfully.

Sandi - I wish you well in dealing with these horrible matters. Change is, of course, much more than visualizing and creating a positive image. I do tend to get annoyed with the idea that you ask and the universe is a delivery boy.
But as you take actions, use your reason to plan, make changes and also create a compelling vision of the future (yes visualizing is cool but it’s not the End-All and Be All), you are making your life better.
Warmly,
Ronda
