This seems to be about Anna Dee Olson, author of Growing Up Amish…but it’s really about

YOU.

I think you’ll love this story.  And maybe your dream will wake up.

I got an excited phone call from one of my coaching clients through Glenn Dietzel’s Awaken The Author Within program.

Anna Olson boldly shares stories of her life growing up Amish.  for most of us, all we know of this hidden culture is the movie Witness and maybe a grade-school field trip to an Amish village where we saw a soap-making demo.  Even as a child my sense was that the Amish woman who talked to us was closely regulated in how much she could interact and how much she could say about her culture.

There is a great deal of mystery around this culture that maintains its simplicity in a technological age.

One of my favorite conversations with her was when seh said, “I want a video iPod.”  I laughed.  What a big change.

Yes, obviously from that comment you can tell that Anna decided to leave the Amish culture, but she did not abandon her heritage.  She shares a great deal of her life.  And, Amish or not, many of her struggles are the same things you or I might have experienced.

She talks about being ridiculed, struggling with adolescence and dating, messages from her family about her value.  Does that sound familiar?

She told me that someone wrote a book that has perpetuated a false myth that Amish teenagers are encouraged to basically go carousing to see if they want to stay with the culture.  Funny that once anything is in a book, people take it as black and white truth.

Anna reveals insider secrets into the Amish culture, and I’m sure she is going to take some arrows for it, too.  But I’ve taught her how to leverage any publicity to her benefit, so she’s prepared.

Anna recently invested in her dream.  Today, she is watching her dream unfold in many exciting ways.

Do you have a dream of authoring a book?  How long will you wait before you get help to make it come true?

Anna has worked hard, and now her ebook is out!  I have been her authoring coach and mentor, and it has been a pleasure to be part of the unfolding of this book.  She is even starting an internet TV series calledcan’t tell you!  You’ll have to wait for the big reveal on that one.

This is her book.  You can also visit her website, Growing Up Amish, for a free Sneak Peek of the book.

It’s all about you.

If you have a dream, make your dream come true!
