There is great power in stories. The Rutgers women had the opportunity to share their stories with Don Imus at the mediation meeting.

They each told him their major so he could realize that these are women with goals and dreams, and no doubt to remind him that they are human beings just like himself.

They shared their hurt.

Advertisers started pulling their support for Imus’ radio show, reminding us all how loudly the dollar speaks.  And of course both NBC and CBS fired him.

Are the stories you tell yoruself tales of growth, overcoming difficulties, and healing?  Or are they degrading, hurtful tales that tear people apart?

Be mindful of the stories you repeat, Don Imus - and YOU - and ME too!
