Rick Butts, owner and chief of the new Online Marketing Magazine, gave one of the better presentations I have ever heard at carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing Super Conference 9 in Las Vegas.
What made it so great? No, it was not the fact that he wasn’t selling anything, but he did the pervect “night cap” to a head-spinningly full event. His internet magic show gave people a chance to absorb what they had learned and decide on next steps.
He told a hilarious story about how on the eve of Y2K he absorbed the whole internet and so now is empowered to speak as The Internet and impart any knowledge to the audience. What fun. You know how I love stories, real or “enhanced.”
Also, he had great fun pretending to be a spokes-dog for the new book by Sandra Bailey, Real Dogs Don’t Eat Kibble. Since he loves min pins, I told him that he should do the growly voice of the naturally healthy dog for Sandra, and that the dog should definitely be a min-pin. “I eat the RAW diet! I’m naturally healthy. Real dogs don’t eat kibble, ya know. ..”
He fielded questions from the audience, one of which was what the attendees first steps should be. Speaking as The Internet, he said the worst thing you can do after a conference is immediately turn on the computer and get sucked into the sales messages.
He’s right.
The Internet / Rick advised people to take out a pad of paper and plan out their next moves that way first.
