Black Hat Tactics All Too Common in Internet Marketing

Have you ever felt that an internet marketer was manipulating you? Have you ever bought a program that you believed would turn your computer into a cash station- only to find out that the person running the program was all promise and no delivery? Have you ever been jilted online?
Sometimes it is easy to notice when someone is trying to manipulate you, but most of the time, manipulation is so subtle that it can go unnoticed.
Too many big name internet marketers work like this: They have a staff of hard-hitting sales people working with them who try to part people from their credit card information as fast as possible. These salespeople use black hat tactics like this:
- Say that their boss works with some top name person online when this is not true
- Say that a big name marketer extols their boss’s program, when this is not true
- Use fabricated testimonials about their boss’s success
- Use black hat persuasion tactics to get you to open your wallet
And “the boss” - the big name smarmy marketer - will do things like this:
- Fabricate an alliance between himself and another marketer when no such relationship exists
- Create media releases stating that he is working with someone (in a joint venture etc.) when no such venture exists
- Create falsified testimonials from marketers who supposedly endorse them when this is not true.
- Create inferior products and services with the idea that most people won’t take action
- Create inferior products and services with the idea that even if someone realizes they’re jilted, they won’t complain or ask for a refund (only 20% will, but they consider this a small price to pay because afterall, they’re making 80% of their 6-7 figures off of the non-complainers)
- Sell the dream of success knowing that most people never take serious action but - see above bullet for the rest
Here’s an example (without naming names) of how a marketer used a black hat tactic to falsely ally himself with Glenn Dietzel. He not only got the company name and some facts wrong, but he fabricated a joint venture that does not exist. Check out This article on the Author and Grow Rich Blog.
