Before You Invest in a Coaching Program, Read This

There are a lot of coaching programs out there. Some are great. Some are not. So how do you choose?
There are a number of considerations. First and foremost, you want to feel a good connection with the person running the program. Do you feel it is a good match? Are they willing to talk with you and answer any questions BEFORE you invest? Or are they in a hurry to get you to open your wallet?
Next, what results can you expect from the program you are considering? Are these results a good match for what you want and need?
Please check out Coaching Primer for some criteria that will help you make a wise selection with which you will be pleased.
If you have PAID for business coaching or mentoring, the MBS Internet Research Center would like to have your opinion of the services that you bought. Here’s the link to contribute to the survey.
Take the quick survey. THE SURVEY IS 100% CONFIDENTIAL and will not be traced to you in any way and it’s only TWO questions, so it only takes a minute to complete.
Here is some of the results that Ken McArthur has tracked as a result of looking at the answers to the confidential survey:
“ALREADY some definite patterns are obvious in the data.“Some programs are definite losers. People who invested in those programs seem to be universally disappointed. These are programs that I would want to KNOW about before I invested in them. Yes, there are programs out there that simply don’t deliver what they promise. When the full report is available, the MBS Internet Research Center will be including the rankings of these programs. The most frequently cited reasons for disappointment are:
- No customer support
- No content
- No direct contact with the expert
- No results
- Unfulfilled promises
Some programs get mixed reviews and that’s where it gets interesting. How can you have a rave review from one customer and a completely negative review from another one? Did they take the program at the same time? Is it getting better? Getting worse? Or is it — forbid the thought — the client’s attitude.
Finally, some programs are getting universally rave reviews.
So guess what people say about the top programs?
- Great customer support
- Great content
- Direct contact with the expert
- Actual results
- Promises Kept
Not shocked?
Well, there were a few things that set me back a little.
People who had paid in excess of $10,000.00 per program MULTIPLE times and hated every single one of them.
Something is clearly wrong here. It is possible — though not likely — that ALL high-ticket coaching and mentoring programs are awful.
But if they are, why would you keep investing in them over and over?
I’m going to give my unequivocal advice on this one.
If you invest $10,000 in ANY system …Do NOT purchase another one until you have:
- Completed the ENTIRE program that you purchased
- Followed the instructions — to the letter
- Actually DONE what the program asks you do to
- Actively evaluated exactly what YOU might have done better to be successful
“If you are thinking about offering a coaching or mentoring program, here is the BIG question …
How do you deliver …
- Great customer support
- Great content
- Direct contact with the expert
- Actual results
- Promises Kept
“For an investment that provides a real RETURN for BOTH you and your clients.
>>>end of quoted material. Thanks, Ken!<<<
As someone who works with a business mentoring program, my observation is that some folks are fully ready and go all out to get results. Others are in a big rush for results but don’t put in the work to make a lasting business, and some people arenot quite ready.
My best advice to you if you are considering taking a coaching or mentoring program is
Get CLEAR on what you want and what program will help you get there. Time spent in working toward clarity is always time well spent.
PS I’m going to be at Ken McArthur’s JV Alert LIVE in Orlando in February. I hope to meet you there!
