Viral Storytelling with The Story Lady, Ronda Del Boccio

Do you show the real you online, or are you like the character in the Bad Paisley song, “I’m So Much Cooler Online?”  I really love this song, so I’m sharing it with you.  And in case you’re wondering what it has to do with storytelling, let me share…

First of all, it is a story song, as so many country songs are.  It tells the story of a geek who is buff and oh so cool online.  Storytelling is the best way to get past people’s natural defenses and build  trust online.

Also, it points out exactly how people can mask their true selves online.  This - although funny in the song - is why people are so jaded and cynical nowadays.  It’s hard to know whom to trust.

How can you build trust online?  What can you do?  If you work online in any capacity, you want to build trust online.  You want to tell powerful stories that connect you with your intended audience.  You want to demonstrate that you know your stuff.
