I enjoy studying persuasion. It is a huge part of telling your story profitably and powerfully. Persuasion is also something we all do, whether you’d like to admit it or not.

Here’s an aspect of persuasion that I had never heard of.

Have you heard of omega persuasion strategies?

Earlier this week, I had an opportunity to hear Dr. Eric Knowles talking about this, and he instantly had my attention.

How do you bypass people’s natural resistance?

Quoting from his website: “Resistance is natural and built in. All people have some level of SKEPTICISM about any proposal or plan, REACTANCE against being influenced, and INERTIA against making any change. These three forms of resistance result in millions of lost opportunities.

That’s where Omega Strategies come in.

I didn’t realize these were called Alpha Strategies, but most sales is based on outlining the benefits so the person realizes the value of the offer. Like when you tell your friend that Geraldi’s Pizza is awesome and continue on to say that the crust is crisp and not too thick, there are real fresh-grown herbs in the sauce, toppings are abundant, and the aroma makes your stomach growl. If you were to come visit me and you like pizza, Geraldi’s is where we would go.

That’s an Alpha Strategy I bet you’sve used on your spouse, friend, parents, etc.

Omega Strategies are more like a pattern interrupt. They help you identify and remove resistance.

Now, I’m all for new techniques, but I love it when there’s science backing up what someone is saying. And that’s exactly what Dr. Knowles provides. He is a master of creating change. he has not only identified and developed, but researched his findings over the past 20 years.

I would love to remove any resistance he may have to being my guest on a teleseminar, because I would love to explore Omega Strategies more. I would love to master application of these techniques in the written word for stories and sales letters as well.

Dr. Knowles also happens to be a near neighbor. He is in Fayatteville, Arkansas and I’m just across the border in Missouri.
