A Rags to Riches Story — that’s really all about YOU!
June 10th, 2007 · Filed Under: tell powerful stories
Don’t we all love to hear a story about the triumph of an “underdog” - or “under-horse” in this case. It is encoded into our DNA, I believe. As humans, we rise to be our best when we overcome seemingly insurmountable odds or meet a challenge and conquer a barrier.
This is from ESPN.com about the race…
function showFSP() { var elem = document.getElementById(”mainUI”); elem.style.visibility = “visible”; } if (document.all) { window.onload = showFSP; } else { showFSP(); }
“NEW YORK — Rags to Riches is queen for a day.
“The fabulous filly outdueled Preakness winner Curlin in a breathtaking stretch run and won the Belmont Stakes by a head Saturday, becoming the first of her sex in more than a century to take the final leg of the Triple Crown.”
To hear people talk, you would assume that all the other horses should not even bother running that day.because there was only one possible winner.
HA!
Personally, though I would have enjoyed the race no matter which horse won, I love it that a filly had such a winner’s spark in her eye and was so determined to take it!
So let me ask you this, because of course this article is truly all about YOU…
Do you have the “I’m going to win…no question…no doubt” gleam in your eye?
Are you tough enough to make it? You can’t have a thin skin and make your dream happen, you know. You have to be tough, because there will always be someone who wants it just as badly.
Are you totally committed to making your dream a reality?
Are you making no excuses? Are you throwing yourself whole-heartedly into making your dream happen? Are you looking forward and never looking back?
If so…then you can be the next Rags to Riches story!
